MBBS in India

MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery) is a 5.5-year undergraduate program including a one-year mandatory internship. It is the primary medical degree in India that allows graduates to practice as physicians after completing the internship and registration with the state medical council.
Admission to MBBS programs in India is primarily through the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG), which is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). For the academic year 2025-26, NEET-UG is scheduled for May 5, 2025.

NMC Guidelines
As per the latest NMC guidelines (March 2025), students must qualify NEET-UG to study MBBS abroad and must complete their MBBS from NMC-recognized universities only.
